IELTS

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an exam that tests a candidate’s English proficiency across the four skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking.This test is co-owned by the British Council, the IDP Australia and Cambridge ESOL Examinations division.

Format for IELTS evaluation

The IELTS test commences with the listening test which lasts for 40 minutes. it is then followed by the reading test which is 60 minutes. The writing test is also 60 minutes. The speaking test lasts for 11- 14 minutes, and is mostly scheduled, a few days ahead of the test date. This makes the entire duration of the IELTS exam: 2 hours 40 minutes for the LRW (Listening, speaking and writing) and another 14 minutes for the speaking.
